We had some free time after the t-ball meeting this morning and before the party this afternoon, so we decided to go downtown to the River Festival and see what was going on.
We usually go to the block party and ice cream social the night before, but
severe weather kept us home this year.
When we got there we immediately came upon the dodgeball tournament. We watched a couple of games and then went to the kids corner so the girls could play.
We also rode some rides. Here are two photos I took of Lauren -- one during the ride and one after the ride. Afterward she is looking sickly and about to cry from the motion sickness of the ride, it was kind of like the scrambler -- you control how fast it turns, and we had it going fast!! After riding it another time and deciding we were all going to definitely get sick if we rode again, we decided to go watch more of the dodgball tournament.
We ended up sitting there and watching dodgeball for at least another hour. The girls were mesmerized by the quickness and power of the ball. It was more entertaining than I had expected. I'm kind of looking forward to it next year.
Afterward, we walked to Gander Mountain and shopped for a while and then headed to the birthday party. It was a very full day of fun.
